He rolled to the side just before she hit where he’d been standing. Kristy grunted and lunged at him again, catching
his rear left leg and sinking her claws in. he sank momentarily to the floor before he pulled off, bouncing off a tree trunk
and hitting her side, his fangs sinking into her flank.
Kirsty wondered if this was another mutt friend of Simons or just a stray wolf. Though she found that to be almost impossible
as normal wolves seemed to avoid werewolf territory, maybe the fact that werewolf’s could hold a gun, then shift to
wolf scared them, or the fact that they where much more powerful. Kirsty knew it was mainly because of the different smell
Werewolves gave off
She shook him off and watched as he skidded across the floor, lips pealed back to show off his white fangs. She copied and
they circled one another before lunging forward and clawing in mid air, clawing at one another and having no effect. They
continued for minutes, clawing at one another, fangs sinking into ruffles of grey and black fur, she swung out with her left
paw and scratched down the right side of his face, clawing over his right eye, momentarily he blinked and pawed at his bloodied
eye before the large auburn shape of Trey crashed through the bushes and caught the mutt around the neck. The mutt growled
and got hold of trey’s front leg, pulled it forward and got loose. The Kirsty struck a whip of right clawed paw across
the white stripe on his muzzle and it went pink. The mutt hit the floor and whimpered ears back and eyes closed. She hadn’t
realised how much power she’d put into the last blow.
‘IS he dead?’ Luce asked trey as they crouched around the black wolf, still in the forest,
‘No, just blacked out. Kirsty had some power in that last one,’ Trey muttered, heaving the mutt up and onto his
shoulders. Kirsty came out from the bushes to his left and looked thoughtfully at the mutts face for a second then strolled
forward, over the partially destroyed Simon-body and out into the green grass. She stopped briefly, wiggling her toes on the
slightly damn grass, then strode forward, stark naked, towards her home.
‘What the hell are we going to do with him now?’ Ludi muttered to Amy and the equally small woman shrugged her
shoulders. They’d been stood out side one of the empty second floor bedroom’s for the past half an hour waiting
for the new mutt to change back to his human form. He’d been in human form for the last 10 minutes. They only knew this
because of the amount of crashing and the sound of things being flung around inside the room.
‘I’m just glad this ain’t my room,’ Amy muttered, rubbing the top of her arm lightly. Her wounds were
already begging to heal over, they where really just red welt on her skin now.
‘You think Kirst and Trey will let him –‘Ludi nodded her head at the door ‘- into the Pack now Simons,
geeerk!’ she made a funny face that was meant to mean dead;’ Amy shrugged again and lent back against the wall.
When they’d first brought the unconscious wolf into the house, Hawk had suggest the basement, but when he went down
to open the cage, he returned seconds later with the cage door and one of the sides. It was broken, another job on the to-do
list. Trey, being that all powerful alpha told Luce and Amy to go and put him in one of the empty rooms and let him wake up
on his own. So they did. And that where they were then. Yawning and rubbing their bruised and bloodied arms. Thankfully there
where the only two who could salvage their clothing and rug it back on. Trey, Hawk and Kirsty had to completely change their
clothes because another decent pair had been ripped up. That was beginning to be trend for Kirsty.
The female alpha sighed as she walked towards her two female Beta’s
‘IS he awake yet?’ she asked and they both answered at the same time
‘Yeah, can’t you hear?’ once they said it they laughed, and quickly recovered as Kirsty frowned, then grinned.
‘IM gonna go in. go get something to eat,’ the alpha said and her beta’s grinned and took off down the stairs,
tripping over one another as they did. Breathing in, Kirsty gripped the door knob and pushed it open, instantly she was almost
hit in the head by a chair leg.
The young rather naked boy stood across the room, glaring at her and another piece of chair in hand, ‘Are you going
to throw that?’ Kirsty said and he did, it hit the wall just a little to the left from her head. She smirked and closed
the door, chucking a pair of Trey’s jeans at the kid. He grabbed them and quickly tugged them on, covering his modesty.
Spinning around he inhaled and squeezed his hands into fists. Now Kirsty wasn’t sure weather he was going to attack
her, or just throw another piece of furniture at her. Scanning him quickly, she noted how young he looked, floppy possibly
shoulder length dark brown almost black hair, round brown eyes, slightly developed muscled chest, a small teenage like mass
of hair around his bellybutton and slender waist and legs. He wasn’t too tall, about 5 foot 7 inches maybe, so she was
taller then him and probably stronger. The jeans of Trey’s didn’t seem to be fitting him to well either, they
kept slipping down, and so he’d balled the front into his fist to hold it up,
‘Who the fuck are you?’ he asked, still glaring,
Who the fuck are you?’ Kirsty mimicked, locking the door with one hand, ‘you come onto Pack territory, attack
on Alpha then have the nerve to ask me who the fuck I am? I’m the Alpha of this pack, and you’re trespassing,’
the boy looked a little confused, then lunged forward, catching her around the chin with his fist. Kirsty moved quickly, side
stepping and slamming her fist into his solar plexus. Momentarily he froze in the shock then span around, letting go of the
jeans and taking another swing at her face. She beat him, giving the boy a upper right hook into his chin and almost sending
him through the wall. He hit it instead and slip to the floor, ‘I wouldn’t make it a habit of attacking the Alpha’s
pup,’ she said, leaning forward and smiling. ‘Now who are you?’ Kirsty scanned him again, noting any mark
on his body. A small scar on the side of his lip, three black stars on the left of his neck and four perfectly round rather
spaced out white scars on his stomach area. Standing up straight she frowned and listened to him,
‘My names Nathaniel Williams, Nathan if you will, I’m looking for a pack to join, and I was told of this one,’
‘Yet you attack me twice, why?’
‘I attacked you in the tree because I through you was killing another wolf,’
‘I was, I mean I did kill him. I had my reasons – ‘he opened his mouth to ask, ‘- none that you need
to know. And the second time?’
‘I was pissed of being locked up,’ he said simply, pulling himself up and baling the jean into his hand again.
‘Sorry,’ he muttered,
‘How old are you?’
‘17, I’m 18 next April,’ he looked up the, eyes bright for no apparent reason. Kirsty saw then his eyes
where flecked with purples and lilac, like her yellow ring, his where through out his iris’s.
‘You also look hungry,’ she said, ‘might as well meet the rest and get some food down you before we rip
you up,’ stepping to the door and unlocking it, she looked over her shoulder and grinned, ‘I was joking,’
the kid looked so scared.
Hawk reached for the third to last piece of gammon steak and was jabbed away by Trey’s knife,
‘You have got 3 already!’ he protested and Amy flicked some peas at him, almost falling off her chair from laughter.
Hawk frowned and shoved her a little. She pouted and he kissed her,
‘Oh please! Not here!’ Ludi cried out, flicking peas at them both. Kirsty grinned and forked the third to last
gammon steak off trey’s plate onto her own and began to take great chunks out of it.
‘I don’t trust him,’ trey muttered to her as he watched the mutt pup chew his own gammon,
‘And why not?’ she replied. They where both sat exactly across from him, but the amount of noise coming from the
rest, he probably was unable to hear,
‘Is it just by chance he arrives just as we…I mean you, get rid off Simon after he went crazy?’ trey looked
at her and Kirsty frowned, pondering that thought. She remembered the images in Simons head then, the white corridors, the
piece of paper with the words she was unable to make out, everything about those images seemed to weird, but she saw no black
wolf in them, not Simon or this Nathaniel character. Rubbing her nose with the back of her hand, Kirsty went back to stare
at the food on her plate and licked her lips. She could hear the rain pounding out side then window as they ate, she could
even hear the rabbit under the porch sheltering form the rain. She just wasn’t in the mood to eat.
Standing up rather abruptly, Kirsty pushed her plate towards the middle of the table and went for the kitchen, shutting the
door after her. Watching the rain hit the windows she sighed and rubbed her face with some water from the sink she stood over,
‘Jesus what’s wrong with me?’ she asked herself,
‘Nothing’s wrong with you,’ she jumped and span to face Trey, who was stood as he usually did, leaning against
the door way that air of dominance around him,
‘No that’s not what I meant,’
‘What did you mean?’ he asked, stepping in to the kitchen and around the small wooden mess in the middle of the
room that had been the kitchen table.
‘I mean, well what kind of Alpha am I if I cant protect my own Pack from something stupid like Simon? Why couldn’t
I smell the Mutt Pup? Why didn’t I know he was there while we were getting rid of Simon? Why Trey?’ as she said
her little speech, Kirsty kicked a rather large piece of wood from the middle of the room, it flung into the air and bounced
off the wall leaving a small dent. Gritting her teeth, she turned and gripped the kitchen counter till her knuckles went white.
Trey stepped forward, running his hands down her shoulders, kissing her cheek lightly,
‘Shh babe, shh. You’re stressed, you need to calm down, breath, I dunno run or something,’
‘Cant run, it’s raining,’
‘When has a thing like that stopped you?’ he muttered, tugging at her hand and leading her to the door. She tugged
back at his hand, then let go, watching as he disappeared through the door and stood on the porch. Trey already knew she wouldn’t
follow, he didn’t know why he asked, he just did. He didn’t want her to be upset, or confused about anything.
So he stood on the porch, and listened as the rain fell around him.
Inside Kirsty stood staring at Trey’s back. He had his back to her and was almost stood completely in the rain, his
body relaxed and still dominant. She shuddered a little and turned to almost walk into Nathaniel. He stepped back, flicking
his head so the length of his hair swung back. It was a almost a feminine move, but when he did it didn’t seem to womanly
at all. She stepped back just as he did, dropping her arms to her sides and gripping her hands to form fists, making herself
dominant instantly.
‘What?’
‘Nothing! I just wondered where to go as the rest kind of left me,’ Nathaniel muttered, moving around the clump
of wood in the middle of the floor, to stand almost exactly opposite her. She watched him, like a predator watching its prey,
though they where both wolves. She concentrated then, trying to get into his mind, but he just seemed to push her away. Frowning
harder she placed her hands on her hips and stared at him,
‘I don’t trust you Nathaniel, you understand that don’t you? You’re a mutt on pack territory and your
not even here on invitation. So technically if we kill you no one will miss you, do you understand that?’
‘Yes I understand that,’ he lent back on the kitchen counter, watching her just as she watched him. He had dominance
about him, even if he was young, so very young. And so damn familiar. Running her tongue over her teeth and lips she moved
back to lean against the wall, shot a quick look to Trey, who was now completely stood in the rain, heading towards the garage.
Probably to look at his rusted Mustang. ‘I understand the fact that even though I ate with the pack and am now speaking
to you that I’m not pack, I’m just a mutt. I don’t want to be a mutt. I want to be pack. What do I have
to do to be pack?’ he pushed off the counter then, stepping over the wood shards and stood maybe half a meter from Kirsty.
She looked at him and was sure then he was a inch shorter then herself. She smirked, feeling tall then nodded to herself,
‘Ever hunted in the rain?’
