good morning, (afternoon, evening, whatever the case may be) commander and welcome to basic training. there's almost always
a war on, so we have to make this a crash-corse.
in front of you is your battle screen, with this, you can command almost any unit on the feild. let's start with the basics,
left-click on a unit to select it, then left-click again on the part of the screen where you want that unit to move. some
units have a "deploy" command on them. usually in this deployed state, the unit is tougher, has better firepower,
or it unloads it's cargo. to deploy a unit, left-click on it, then left-click agin immedently. for your MCV, this will deploy
it into a Construction Yard.
to tell a unit to attack, select that unit, and left-click an enemy target for it to attack.
to select mutiple units, first left-click and hold to form
a selection box, with the selection box, you select every unit in that box, combat or otherwise.
now that you've managed the difficult task or ordering around a squad of units, let's move onto structures.
structures have a diffrent control system. as soon as you deploy a construction yard, look to the right-hand side of the
screen. you should see diffrent options of structuries to build. left-click one and wait until the bulding is finished, then
left-click on the building you just compleated and place it near your construction yard. if you see red squeries where you
want to deploy it, you are either trying to build it too far away from the construction yard, OR you are trying to build on
un-even ground.
to make solders or tanks, you must make a war factory or barracks. with these buildings a button that looks like a solder
or a tank will appear. click this button, and you will see the diffrent types or solders you can train and the diffrent vechiles
you can build.
aircraft have landing pads that you must build. these are crutial for maintaning air power. the air pads are the only
place a plane can land after an attack run. they use these to re-arm and repair themselves. keep in mind, helicopters (except
in Tiberium Sun) don't need landing pads to re-arm.
if your power goes off, your base wll become inoprative. some buildings will be shut down , while other buildings will
work innefichiently. to get more power, build more power plants, this varies from game to game.
if you play other games like rise of Nations or Starcraft (C&C's Mortal enemy OR greatest ally, depending on your
point of view) you may start getting annoyed when you troops constantly keep getting run over by tanks. DON'T WORRY ABOUT
THAT! think real-life, if a tank hits you, you get squished, right? a simple anwser to that problem? TRAIN LESS TROOPS! you
can substituye less troops with more ships (depending on the game) build more aircraft, tain Anti-tank troops, build more
tanks or, just build more base defences.
that's everything a good General should know, good luck solider!
